WPPC MOST WANTED
World
PIANOvision Competition
Preliminary and Semi-Final Rounds heard on
the www.pianovision.com!
Finals – Dallas, TX
October 24th, 2008
Final Round during the 13th World
Piano Pedagogy Conference
Music
competitions go back more than 250 years, documented by well known rivalries
between Mozart & Clementi and Liszt & Thalberg. Arthur Rubinstein, Tchaikowsky and Van
Cliburn Competitions led the way into thousands of competitions in the
twentieth century. We all know that even the most renowned competitions do not
guarantee careers for the winners; however all, no matter the magnitude, have
proven to be very motivating and encouraging for students of all ages and levels.
I
believe it is time to rethink the concept, use what we have learned from the
past and leap forward to modify the content, program, and adjudication
processes, combining past excellence with modern approaches and technology,
when it adds to the quality. Our answer is the WPPC Most Wanted
competition. Our goal is to discover the most promising performers and offer
them the well-deserved opportunity to be
heard!
Preliminary
and Semi-Final Rounds will be heard here on the www.pianovision.com by thousands of
viewers and listeners. The final
round of the competition will be part of the largest international piano
gathering – World Piano Pedagogy Conference, described by Prof. David
Abbott from Albion College in Michigan,
“WPPC is without a doubt the FINEST
conference I have ever attended on piano with consistently high artistic
performances and master classes. There is nothing in the USA that comes
close to this!” These unique circumstances afford us to have a
versatile and well qualified professional jury and new competition unlike any
other.
